RESPONSIBILITIES

The Finance Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the finance team to effectively operate on a day-to-day basis. The role offers a starting financial assistant a great opportunity to join a fast-growing organization and to develop within the company in the long run. As the Finance Assistant you will communicate with suppliers, colleagues and gain exposure to the many parts of the finance department at The Ocean Cleanup.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing supplier invoices, expense claims and payments
  • Process and manage financial information in the accounting system (NetSuite)
  • Assist in the month-end financial close
  • Preparation of payroll tax and VAT returns
  • Preparation of monthly finance reports
  • Assist in various finance team projects as needed
  • Report to the Financial Manager

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO) level with a finance/business/economics focus
  • Minimum one-year experience as bookkeeper or finance assistant
  • Strong command of the English language (written and verbal)
