RESPONSIBILITIES

The HR manager supports the Head of HR in achieving the department’s goals with the selection, onboarding, renumeration, appraisal and development of excellent crew members of The Ocean Cleanup.

This role offers a smart and agile HR professional a great opportunity to join a fast-growing organization and to develop within the company in the long run. You will have responsibility for key HR processes and help structure the HR challenges of The Ocean Cleanup.

Responsibilities include:

  • Making employment and engagement agreements
  • Onboarding and offboarding crew members
  • Maintaining The Ocean Cleanup’s HR administration
  • Good understanding of mechanical design and design for marine environments
  • Maintaining The Ocean Cleanup’s HR administration

    • Maintain staff- and payroll data
    • Manage monthly payroll
    • Onboarding/offboarding reports

  • Assisting international crew with visa and tax requirements
  • Coordinate all selection and onboarding procedures (interviews, rejections)
  • Provide new staff with contracts and onboarding packages
  • Assist the head of HR with interviews, hiring negotiations, staff assessments and select personnel issues

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or master’s degree (at least HBO)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Professional knowledge of key HR processes and principles
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal)
  • For this role, we only invite candidates with a valid (long-term) working permit for the Netherlands
